Science Fair Volunteer - 2018

We need volunteers to make science fun for kids and families!

The UO Science and Invention Fair will be held March 3, 2018 in Willamette Hall on the Univeristy of Oregon Campus.

Volunteer opportunities include:

Please check all duties you are interested in performing. You can check multiple. Dates and times are noted next to jobs. You do not need to be available all day for reception and outreach positions the whole time. We will schedule folks in shifts.

Science Fair Registration

This form is used to register for the University of Oregon grades K-5 fair.

Students in grades 6-12 should register for the Central Western Oregon Science Expo (Deadline February 14th)

Online registration for the UO Science and Invention Fair (K-5) closes at 5pm on February 23rd

Science Fair Project Development Workshops

Everything you need to know for making your own science fair project!

This hands on workshop will cover everything you need to know to get started on your own science fair project. Topics cover the scientific method, research questions, and data collection and presentation. Hands on activities include the Mystery Box and Airplane Conundrum

Supplies and take home resources are provided. Ages 8+

UO Science Fair 2016

The 5th Annual UO Science and Invention Fair will take place in Willamette Hall on the UO campus this May. n the lead up to this event, the UO SPICE program will offer workshops on project development in area classrooms. Pilot Video Shoot

SPICE is launching a YouTube channel and we need the help of science lovers like you to shoot our pilot video.
Saturday, December 19th 12:00pm-4pm we'll be in Willamette Hall holding auditions and filiming a short video about the Elephant's Toothpaste experiment.  We are looking for:3 Girls ages 9-16 to act as hosts

The UO Science and Invention Fair will be held on May 9th, 2015 in Willamette Hall on the UO Campus.

The schedule for the fair is as follows:

  • 9:00-10:00 - Set Up
  • 10:00-11:00 - Check in and Registration
  • 11:00 - Workshop Registration, Activity Tables Open
  • 11:30 - 1:30 - Judging
  • 1:30 - 2:25 - Workshops
  • 2:30 - 3:00 - Demonstration show
  • 3:00-3:45 - Awards
