Schedule of Events

10:00am - Project Check-in Begins - Greeters at Curb for Drop Off

10:50am - Check-in Closes 

11:00am - Fair Opens - Workshop Registration Begins - Activity Tables are Open

11:30am - Judging Begins - 1st Workshop Session Begins (112 Willamette & 107 Klamath)

12:30pm - Judging Ends - 1st Workshop Session Ends

12:40pm - 2nd Workshop Session Begins (112 Willamette & 107 Klamath)

1:15pm - Ribbons Placed on Displays

1:40pm - 2nd Workshop Session Ends

2:00pm - Demonstration/Award Presentation Begins (100 Willamette)

3:00pm - Fair Closes

Project Check-in

Project check-in begins at 10am and closes at 10:50am.  Students and families with projects are encouraged to arrive early to have plenty of time to set up.  If you have special needs for your display, please make sure to contact the program director, Brandy Todd ( 541-346-4313).

SPICE will have greeters at the curb to direct presenters and visitors to the fair.  Parents/responsible adults may drop presenters off at the curb with their projects while searching for parking (more info below).  Curbside greeters will escort young students into the fair.  Once inside the building, SPICE demonstration staff will check the student in, guide him/her to their display spot and assist in set up.  Parents/responsible adults are expected to remain with students under 14 during the fair.  SPICE staff will chaperone during set up only.

A number of interactive and informational tables will be available to all visitors.  Tables include:

Workshops include:

  • Vibrobots
  • Monster Genetics
  • Gum Drop Engineering
  • Light, Waves and Spectroscopy

The UO Science and Invention Fair will take place in Willamette Hall on the UO Campus.  Willamette Hall can be accessed by car from 13th Street via Agate.  The map below shows the fair location, drop off location and parking options.
